Rod would have had so much material with this imbecile in the White House. Unfortunately, we are living the nightmare.

His refusal to take any questions on the death and murder of Mr Floyd in MN only proves the true bigot and racist that he is. I’m sure his staff was afraid he would say that the murderer cop had some good qualities too. He was nice to his pet goldfish

Yes, that would have been the risk. Better to whisk him out of there.

While Donald Trump may not have answered questions in regard to the death of George Floyd, saying much beyond “it’s being looked into” would I think be inappropriate for the president of the United States. I don’t recall Barack Obama making declarations of murder when he was president either.
And Donald Trump has commented on it. There’s an article about it at https://wtop.com/white-house/2020/05/trump-tries-a-new-response-after-george-floyds-death-2/

In the midst of a crisis, you always remove your support systems–right?
One thing I get from Rod Serling’s *Twilight Zone* is that, after you’d seen the ending and thought about the episode, it makes a kind of internal sense. To me, that is one of the greatest strengths of the series.
If Serling had done an episode about a Trumpesque dictator–excuse me, president–I don’t think the leader would have come out well in the end.
