100 Days Of Chaos: Who, Or What, Will Save Us?

April 24, 2025 By John DeProspo 1 Comment

April 30 marks 100 days into Trump’s return to the White House, and already the country looks bruised, battered, and barely recognizable. With his gang of sycophantic enablers, Trump has wiped his butt with the Constitution, taken a sledgehammer to the rule of law, turned corruption into a virtue, and breathed new life into Reagan’s infamous quip: “Government is not the solution to our problem; government is the problem.” If this much damage can be done in just 100 days, imagine the wreckage four years from now!

How does this nightmare end? Can anyone—or anything—save us?

If you’re hoping the Republican-led Congress will step in to stop the madness, that’s laughable. These aren’t lawmakers; they’re loyalists, lackeys, and cowards. Faced with a president who openly flirts with authoritarianism, they’ve chosen fealty over fidelity to the Constitution. They’ve traded their oaths for applause, their spines for status. They are traitors who watched democracy burn and brought marshmallows.

And the Supreme Court—those robed “guardians” of the Constitution? Please. They greased the skids by slow-walking Trump’s immunity case until accountability timed out. Then, in a ruling both absurd and dangerous, they declared that a president is immune from prosecution for “official” acts. Translation: if you’re powerful enough, your crimes are just “policy” decisions.

What about the 2026 midterms? Maybe. But don’t hold your breath. Not if the traitorous Republican machine gets its way. Across the country, they’re already working overtime—gerrymandering maps, purging voter rolls, and passing laws designed to suppress Democratic votes. They don’t want fair elections. They want fixed outcomes.

The courts won’t save us. Congress won’t save us. The system is rigged to protect the powerful and punish the rest. It’s no wonder that many feel an overwhelming sense of dread about the future.

Can anything save us? Maybe not—unless the people themselves rise up. Not with memes but with pitchforks. Not with hashtags but with outrage, organizing, and relentless pressure. This isn’t politics anymore. It’s survival. It’s about whether we still have a country worth fighting for.

Hey, Mother Nature—if you’re reading this downer of a rant, a little karmic intervention wouldn’t hurt.

*To my loyal readers, I apologize for the long absence. I will try my best to chime in more frequently on this sh*tshow we are all unfortunately witnessing.

What People Liked Most About Bloomberg Was The Idea Of Bloomberg

March 4, 2020 By John DeProspo 4 Comments

Oh, if only Mike had not found his way onto that February 19 Democratic debate stage!

The former New York mayor’s strategy of saturating the airwaves with his political ads was working like a charm. He was well positioned to be the “moderate” alternative to the “radical” Bernie Sanders. Joe Biden was fast sinking into “afterthought” status.

But in that infamous February 19 debate, Mike Bloomberg proved you can create buzz for a product with countless, well-made ads but you ultimately have to deliver the goods. To say Bloomberg underwhelmed during his first appearance in a Democratic presidential debate would be putting it mildly. He was eviscerated by fellow candidate Elizabeth Warren and his performance was universally panned by political analysts.

Now that Bloomberg has withdrawn from the Democratic presidential race after a disastrous showing in the Super Tuesday primaries, some people are trying to wrap their heads around how someone who looked so formidable … who spent half a billion dollars on a political campaign … could not end up with the brass ring.

It seems clear that what people liked most about Mike Bloomberg was the “idea” of Mike Bloomberg. They liked his ads.

Here was a guy whose stated goal was to do whatever it took to defeat Donald Trump. If that meant spending a cool billion or two of his own money, Mike was the man.  People liked the prospect of a real billionaire who could outspend a fake billionaire and his Republican Party.

Democrats thought if supporting a billionaire was the price to pay for kicking Trump out of office, they were willing to set aside their hatred of big money in politics and go with Mike. Some pre-Bloomberg-debate polls even showed he had the best chance to defeating Trump.

Yes, he was a fat cat willing to spend an obscene amount of money but he would also be the one to save the country from another four years of Trump.

But then it came time for Bloomberg to back up his ad blitz with a solid debate performance.

It didn’t happen. Not in his first debate nor in his second.

Say what you will about Bloomberg … that he wasted his money on a vanity campaign. The truth is his hard-hitting ads did real damage to Trump and he succeeded (for better or worse) in steering the Democratic Party back into the arms of the Party establishment by making Joe Biden the likely Democratic presidential nominee.

How Is Trump Able To Sleep At Night … Seriously?

October 19, 2019 By John DeProspo 2 Comments

It has been reported that Donald Trump is a “short sleeper.” Last year, his personal physician at the time, Navy doctor Ronny Jackson, revealed Trump sleeps “four to five hours a night.”

What amazes me most about Trump’s minimal amount of shut-eye is that he’s able to get any sleep at all!

With all the havoc he has unleashed on the world … the needless human suffering and yes, even death, how does he get his brain to shut off at night so he can get his forty winks?

The thought came to mind after reading comments made by Capt. Alan Kennedy of the Colorado Army National Guard.

The man who served alongside Kurdish forces in Syria recently talked about the disastrous decision made by Trump concerning American forces in the region.

In a video by the New York Times, Kennedy blasted Trump’s decision to withdraw troops from northern Syria, which paved the way for a Turkish attack against the Kurds, who were allied with America in the fight against the Islamic State.

“Weeks ago, our commander in chief announced he was pulling our last troops out of the region. Ever since, I haven’t been able to sleep at night,” Kennedy said.

“Our complete withdrawal from Syria is unstrategic, immoral, and ultimately un-American,” he added.

Yet it appears that the mastermind behind the now unfolding humanitarian disaster in Syria still sleeps like a baby.

So how does he do it? How does Trump keep all those negative thoughts from bubbling to the fore when his head hits the pillow at night? The answer is as simple as it is obvious … he never has negative thoughts!

For a man who has no sense of compassion or empathy is it really such a big deal that some dark-skinned people are getting killed as a result of his decision in Syria? What is Syria anyway but a land of sand and fighting factions that have been going at it for centuries? I’m betting Trump would lump Syria along with all the other “sh*thole countries” he has talked about.

Some have said Trump does not a human bone in his body. But is Trump really human? In a perverse way, the man with the most inflated sense of self worth likely thinks he is the God many of his worshippers believe him to be.
