Trump Attacks McCain For Not Thanking Him For First-Class Funeral

March 20, 2019 By John DeProspo 1 Comment

No, this is not satire. It’s just another example of the mad ramblings of an addled brain.

At a speech today in Lima, Ohio, Trump told a crowd of workers that McCain never even bothered to thank him for giving him the kind of funeral he wanted. Oh that ingrate!

“I gave him the kind of funeral he wanted, which as president I had to approve… I don’t care about this, I didn’t get ‘thank you’, that’s OK.”

Perhaps the ghost of McCain should pay Trump a visit tonight, and every night for the rest of his natural days, thanking him for the great send off!

For the record, Trump didn’t “approve” anything, as McCain’s funeral was not the responsibility of the president.

In order to lie in state at the Capitol — which McCain did, becoming the 31st person and 13th senator ever to do so, The New York Times reported— congressional approval is required.

“These occasions are either authorized by a congressional resolution or approved by the congressional leadership, when permission is granted by survivors,” the Architect of the Capitol’s website reads.

About the only thing Trump did  “approve” was for the use of a military jet to fly McCain’s body from Arizona to Washington D.C.

You were so right, Ted, Trump’s just an unadulterated,  “pathological liar.”

Trump Takes A Knee At George H. W. Bush Funeral

December 6, 2018 By John DeProspo 4 Comments

While everyone around him recited the Apostles’ Creed as part of the funeral service for George H. W. Bush, Donald Trump remained stone-faced, with his program in hand and arms crossed.

The man who many Evangelical Christians think was installed into the White House not through the help of Russians but by divine intervention, couldn’t even fake his phony religiosity.

The man who during the presidential campaign outrageously claimed the Bible was his favorite book in an effort to convince Evangelical Christians that he would be a better choice for president than the laundry list of other potential Republican candidates, couldn’t even show respect for religion.

Yes, Trump had every right to remain silent but why put your hypocrisy on full display?

What Trump did was the equivalent of NFL players refusing to stand for the National Anthem … what staunch conservatives see as a total disrespect for the flag and our military. So where is the outrage from the religious right, or Fox, for Trump’s show of contempt for the faithful?

It should be noted that the man standing next to Trump, President Obama, who he called a Muslim from Kenya, not only recited the Creed but also seemed to do so from memory.

Perhaps, as some are speculating, Trump’s refusal to recite the Apostles’ Creed wasn’t so much a show of disrespect but proof that he cannot read?

Or as others have surmised, Trump thought the recitation was homage to Apollo Creed, never one of his favorite boxers.

Trump Mocks McCain In Life … “The Maverick” Disses Trump In Death

August 26, 2018 By John DeProspo 5 Comments

Oh sweet justice!

If you recall, at an event in Iowa, then candidate Donald Trump belittled John McCain’s Vietnam war record by questioning his heroism.

“He’s not a war hero,” said Trump. “He’s a war hero because he was captured. I like people that weren’t captured.”

Both Democrats and Republicans roundly criticized Trump for his comment. Though it was suggested Trump apologize to McCain, he never retracted the statement.

And now that the U.S. Senator, often called “The Maverick,” has passed away at the age of 81, it is McCain who gets the last dig.

While almost anyone who’s anyone will be attending McCain’s funeral, there will be one very noticeable absentee … Donald Trump.

It was McCain’s wish that Trump be barred from his funeral.

To make matters worse, McCain left specific instructions that a former president, Barack Obama, eulogize him!

That’s got to hurt the man-child currently occupying the Oval Office whose main goal is to erase Obama’s legislative accomplishments.

As one observer, Bruce Lindner, has noted, “Other than Obama’s roast of Trump at the White House Correspondent’s Dinner seven years ago, I don’t think anything anyone has ever done to Trump will infuriate him as much as this.”

How humiliating! How perfect!

Thank you, Sen. McCain, for your years of service to our country. However, I do not think I will ever forgive you for unleashing Sarah Palin on an defenseless nation!

Now all we need is for some more justice to be shown to our incompetent, narcissistic, illegitimate president by another true American patriot … one Robert S. Mueller.
